Schaffhausen, Switzerland, September 8,2021 te connectivity (te), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, and laird connectivity, a leading supplier in wireless modules, Internet of Things devices and antennas, is pleased to announce that te has signed a final agreement to acquire laird connectivity's antenna business.The acquisition of the laird Antenna business expands te's broad connectivity product portfolio, particularly in terms of antenna and wireless solutions for the Internet of Things (iot) devices and edge access areas.The acquisition also expanded te's engineering and manufacturing scope, and increased te's share in multiple attractive market segments. sudhakar sabada, senior vice President and general manager of te data and terminal equipment division, said: " I'm glad to welcome the laird antenna team to join the te, through the te high-speed data and wireless connection product portfolio of breadth, manufacturing scale and distribution channels, combined with precision design and market-leading antenna solutions, can significantly enhance the value we bring to our customers.This acquisition will enhance our antenna product line and advanced engineering capabilities and is a significant milestone in our strategic vision for expansion in the fast-growing edge access and Internet of Things market."The acquisition is expected to close by the end of October.
